Online Admission Notice of B.A./ B.Sc. / B.Com; (Hons & Gen) 1st year class 2017-2018

It is hereby notified for all concerned that all admission will be done through the ‘Online Admission Process’. Candidates who are seeking admission for the different courses should strictly visit the college website

Please note that the candidate may pay the Application Fee (Rs. 200/-) either online or at the Bank. Those who opt to pay at the Bank, they will visit at Central Bank of India, Singhibagan Branch, 4&5, Singhibagan Lane, near Jorasankho, Kolkata – 700007.

 For Honours and General Course:

Calculation of percentage of marks in aggregate will be considered on the basis of top 4 subjects. However, Environmental Science/Environmental Education/ Environmental Studies if studied as an elective subject of 100 marks may be taking into consideration provided she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.

Year of Passing (10+2):   Not before the year 2012.

Merit list will be prepared by taking into consideration the Reservation Rules as laid down by the Govt./ Appropriate Authority.

For B.A/ B.Sc (Honours& General) course:

Elective Subjects may be changed at the time of Admission.

Important Dates for the Applicants:

  • Last date of Online Application : 14.06.2017 (Wednesday)
  • Last date of deposit of Bank Challan : 15.06.2017(Thursday)
  • Date of publication of Merit List : 16.06.2017(Friday)
  • Counseling cum Admission on and from : 21.06.2017(Wednesday)
  • Counseling cum Admission will be made serially on the basis of Merit List and note your exact date and time.

Admission norms : Marks in H.S. (10+2)

B.Com Honours (Accounting & Finance) : 60% in aggregate & 50% in subject / related subject

Related subjects : Accountancy, Business Economics including Business Mathematics, Business Organization, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, Office & Secretarial Practice, Financial Accounting, Elements of Cost Accountancy & Auditing, Book Keeping, Commerce, Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management.

B.A. Honours :Hindi                 :60% in aggregate &65% in subject

Education   : 50% in aggregate & 45% in subject / related subject

Or 55% in subject / related subject

History                 : 50% in aggregate & 45% in subject

Or 55% in subject

English                 : 55% in aggregate & 65% in subject

Related subject in Education :Psychology / Philosophy / Mathematics/ Sociology / Economics / Political Science / History.

For SC / ST candidates :Aggregate or subject / related subject 40%

For General Course:

B.Com (Gen) –  40% in aggregate

B.A. (Gen) –           40% in aggregate but for

English Elective       – Min marks in English subject       – 50%

Hindi Elective           – Min marks in Hindi subject          – 45%.

Education Elective – Min marks in Education subject  – 45%.

For SC / ST candidates: 30% in aggregate

  • Downloaded and printed complete Application Form and Bank Challan must be brought to the college at the time of counseling and admission.

  • Original Mark sheet (H.S.) without lamination to be produced.

B.Com Hons. : Rs.3505/-                                         B.A. Hons.     : Rs.3445/-

B.Com Gen.  : Rs.3480/-                                         B.A. Gen        : Rs.3420/-

Students coming from other states are required to pay C.U. Migration fee Rs.100/- extra(Except C.B.S.E , I.S.C, and N.I.O.S). They have to produce Original Migration Certificate at the time of admission.

All Mark sheets, Admit Cards, Age Proof Certificate, Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B, PH) should be brought in original at the time of admission.

Selection for admission to the courses is made on basis of merit in different phases.

Vocational Candidates (W.B. State Council) are eligible to take admission in B.A. (Gen) taking the subjects under ‘Humanities Division’ only (i.e., Excluding Eco & H.D.).

They are also eligible to take admission in B.Com (Gen) if there is ‘Discipline’ in H.S. – ‘Business & Commerce’.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B and physically handicapped candidates as per West Bengal Government rules : SC  : 22%, ST : 6%, OBC-A : 10%, OBC-B : 7%

And PH : 3% for all categories including general caste.

If data and statistics given is not agreed with the original, the application is liable to be cancelled.

If any sort of discrepancy arises during the course of admission the decision of the Admission Committee will be as final and binding.

Applicants are requested to go through the notice board / website of the college regularly for any sorts of information regarding admission 2017-18.
